Mercy is NOT a good neighbor. ............... They have No intention of moving their J St. truck operation, ever. Not even after their present work is done in 2013.
Then for neighborhood relations.

having lived in the area for over 23 years i remember when the house you live in was being renovated, several time's when walking my dog iwould have to cross j street twice because of trucks mostly the plasters backed into the drive and blocking the walk, not to mention an outhouse in the front yard and dumpsters on 41st with materials being delivered very early in the morning, gasoline powered plaster mixers running all day maybe save for an half an hour at midday. i never complained actually was anxious to see the end result.witch turned out beautiful a lovely home no doubt, this smack's of the n.i.m.b.y syndrome it's okay if i do but once i'm done no one else should have the same privlage..........
ReplyDeleteThanks for your letter. I will compose an answer to it. You raise some valid points. Our contractor left our yard in a mess. If the job was down today, it would have a fence around it leaving the side walks open.
ReplyDeleteThe plasters were on the job maybe a couple of weeks, 3 max. The mercy problem we have has been going on for years now. With no solutions in sight even after the current project finishes in 2+ years,
Thanks for your comment.
Jim, your documentation is more than compelling. These videos are worth more than a thousand words. This morning, 3/32 I reported a semi-truck that was in the center turn lanes unloading. It is my understanding that this is in violation of city traffic law. But his width exceeded the lane, and the tires of the truck were over the yellow line, thereby blocking west-bound J Street traffic.
ReplyDeleteHow long will our city officials keep the blinders on about the neighborhood's concerns, as well as how did the EIR overlook 4,000sqft of loading/unloading needed to support the new sq footage?? These are violations of traffic codes. Why aren't fines being written, enforced, and the city debt reduced?
Keep the pics and the cameras rolling.
A concerned neighbor
At a recent city meeting there was discussion of rezoning a few of the lots on J & 41st so the hospital would have the land to build a "back of house" loading dock similar to UCD's. The discussion also made reference to providing a smoking shelter in the same area. This sounds like a win-win for Mr. Ferry and the hospital, he could move away from the trucks and smokers and the neighbors on J-St would not see the trucks in the morning.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when everybody wins. Too bad for Mr. Ferry that the real estate market is at an all time low.
