for Friday February 18th

At Mercy Loading Dock, Friday morning, freight coming in as usual. Picture from my driveway.
..........................................

I went to UCD Hospital to see how they are handling smokers and trucker docking. Above is a picture of their docks. No trucks were doing their business on public streets or in Fire Lanes on hospital grounds.
...
Smoking: No smoking on the campus. Strangely unlike Sutter Memorial I saw no "No Smoking" sign. Visitors are discouraged from smoking on the sidewalks around the hospital, especially on the sidewalks around the hospital in the residential zoned area. The neighbors complained. They are encouraged to smoke across Stockton Blvd in the commerical area, and not on the sidewalks directly in front of the hospital. Evidently the Shriners Hospital has the same policy. I only saw one person smoking in their car and some construction workers smoking at a lunch table in back.
.....
Monday I will post a way to solve the smoking problem for all concerned, making everybody happy.

  1. Your the only one concerned...as I drive by...Isnt Mercy under construction? Its called temporary adaption until everything is running correctly. Be patient and maybe pick up a hobby or sumthing? You must be retired to be doing this all day! Stop invading peoples privacy! there just working! Like all of us! exept you!!

  2. Well spoken.
If I lived on 45th St I wouldn't quite so be concerned. We daily wake up to their trucks and smell their smokers.
I go to work every day. 1/2 retired.
It will not straighten itself out. Mercy has NO plans to change their freight handling and put it in the back where it belongs.
    Thanks for your comment.

  3. having lived in the area for over 23 years i remember when the house you live in was being renovated, several time's when walking my dog iwould have to cross j street twice because of trucks mostly the plasters backed into the drive and blocking the walk, not to mention an outhouse in the front yard and dumpsters on 41st with materials being delivered very early in the morning, gasoline powered plaster mixers running all day maybe save for an half an hour at midday. i never complained actually was anxious to see the end result.witch turned out beautiful a lovely home no doubt, this smack's of the n.i.m.b.y syndrome it's okay if i do but once i'm done no one else should have the same privlage..........
